Why this course? Training to become an English teacher gives you the opportunity to share your passion for the subject, inspiring and shaping the lives of your students. Teaching English at Secondary level gives you the opportunity to share your passion for your degree subject, open the hearts and minds of your students to new experiences and to develop in them a love of language and literature. You’ll also develop their key literacy skills such as reading, writing, talking and listening which play an integral role in learning across the curriculum. Worldwide qualification: The PGDE is a well-recognised teaching qualification worldwide and is regulated by: the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), the Scottish Government. Study mode and duration: Full-time: 36 weeks including 18 weeks of placement experience. Part-time: two years including 18 weeks of full-time placement experience
