What will I learn?

In the 21st century, our environment and society are under significant and growing pressure from complex global challenges, making geography more vital than ever in shaping sustainable futures. By combining your curiosity about the world with practical skills and digital tools, our BSc (Hons) Geography with Integrated Foundation Year degree will equip you to explore these challenges and make a meaningful difference. \Your journey begins with an introductory foundation year at our Carlisle Fusehill Street campus, designed to develop your skills, confidence, and core knowledge in a supportive environment. This year helps you build strong academic foundations, ensuring you’re fully prepared to progress smoothly into the undergraduate degree. \Learning goes beyond the classroom. From year two, you will be based at our Ambleside campus, located in the heart of the Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you'll gain hands-on experience while exploring the diverse natural and cultural landscapes of the surrounding area. \Rolling hills, vast lakes, and a rich variety of terrain provide the perfect environment to study geography in the field. Our academics bring a wealth of experience as lecturers, researchers, and consultants, and are dedicated to sharing their passion for the environment and society. With personalised guidance, they will help you reach your full academic potential. \You will also benefit from our strong industry connections, opening doors to research projects, work placements, volunteering opportunities, and promising careers across a wide range of geography-related fields.
