Applicants are required to have ABB at A Level, including a grade B in the advanced language they wish to study. For the IB, a score of 6,5,5 in Higher Level subjects with a total of 32 points is needed, including a Higher Level or equivalent in the language planned for study. BTEC qualifications are accepted with an Extended Diploma at DDM plus a B at A level in the required subject(s), or equivalent for Diploma and Subsidiary Diploma routes. Three A Levels are required in total. It is possible to study two beginner (including post-GCSE) languages without taking an advanced language, and General Studies is accepted. Applicants not currently studying the required language at A level may be considered if they hold an independent language diploma at B2 level—such as DELF-B2 (French), DELE-B2 (Spanish), Goethe-Zertifikat-B2 (German), DILI-B2 (Italian), or TRKI 2nd Certificate (Russian)—which demonstrate advanced language skills and are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. These diplomas can be studied independently or through a language centre and will be considered alongside three A Levels or equivalent qualifications.
*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
