What will I learn?

Curate your own study pathway on our MA Digital Media and Creative Industries, based in East London’s vibrant creative community. As a sector, digital media and the creative industries is expanding and evolving at lightning speed. A major contributor to global economic growth, it’s integrated across every area of life and is ripe with career opportunities for innovative minds.

This is the ideal next step if you want to specialise in advertising and creative campaigning, digital media applications, digital heritage, cultural institutions or social identities and media – and gain a deep understanding of sector dynamics and contexts. You’ll emerge with the mindset and skillset to shape the next generation of ideas, trends and creative output.

Continually refreshed to reflect real-world innovations: On the core modules, you’ll examine digital platforms and network society, cultural policies and the workings, reach and influence of today’s creative economy. Layer this with specialist optional modules spanning topics like design futures, information management, sport sponsorship and research. Whatever pathway you carve out, expect to get hands-on – building work-ready skills like presenting, podcasting, planning campaigns and working in a team. Studying in the heart of East London’s creative, tech and innovation hub, you’ll hear from industry leaders at organisations like V&A East, Sadlers Wells East and BBC Music Studios. It's the ideal place to connect with the right people and find partners for your collaborative project and dissertation.

Accelerate your creative career: If you’re looking to work in the engine room of the creative industry, this master’s is for you. Equally, you could steer your career into the creative or digital media side of any sector that lights you up. Your specialist skills and know-how will set you up to make an impact from the start.
