What will I learn?

OverviewMA Film and Television Production is a multidisciplinary programme designed to enable you to develop the skills and understanding needed to work in a variety of roles in today’s screen industries. Through the programme, you will gain understanding of screen storytelling and how different screen platforms work. You will gain practical experience of making content for a variety of screen platforms, and try out a number of practical roles. You will also develop awareness of industry and your employment opportunities.At its heart, this programme develops craft practices, intellectual understanding, and aims to place you in an industrial context so that you – like so many before you – can enter the screen business upon graduation.This programme is for students who are passionate about screen content and production, love to learn and collaborate, are aware of the world around them, and have the ambition to become professionals in an ever-evolving and expanding industry sector.Why Take the Course?Practical: Focusing on contemporary screen media, this course aims to deliver employable and smart thinking graduates ready for industry and aware of the issues that making content for screens big and small entail.Comprehensive: Learn a multi-skilled approach to the screen industries, perfect for specialists wanting to offer more than one skill.Industry-facing: With career and employability support offered throughout including access to MetFilm Futures, students are supported by leading industry tutors. Entry requirements

For international students

Standard Entry Requirements

  • Age: all applicants must be 18 years or older at the time the programme begins
  • Education: a 2:2 honours degree from a UK university or overseas equivalent

Applicants must also submit:

A personal statement of at least 500 words. The MetFilm School online application form details the information that your personal statement must include.

Students Not Meeting Academic Requirements

Students without a degree, but who can demonstrate relevant industry experience or a degree below a 2:2 equivalent are still able to apply. They will need to submit the following:

  • A professional industry reference.
  • A professional CV.
  • A 750 word statement of why you wish to enter the screen industries, indicating the ways in which you think they are changing.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
