This innovative ARB accredited Master of Architecture offers a one-year route towards becoming an architect, opening doors to professional qualification. Master of Architecture Advanced at Leeds Beckett offers an intensive compressed pathway to becoming a qualified architect in the UK in just one intensive year. This studio-led programme provides Architects Registration Board (ARB) prescription, accelerating your journey into professional practice. As part of this course, you'll: Explore and develop your values, knowledge, skills, and techniques to become a creative and responsive architect, aligned with ARB's Competency Outcomes Develop the ability to create original, forward-thinking architectural solutions that respond to cultural, historical, and environmental contexts across varying scales and complexities Gain confidence in speculative and experimental design approaches to address complex architectural challenges Build strong research capabilities in both academic and design-led contexts to underpin architectural proposals Deepen your understanding of ethical, sustainable, and inclusive design principles and how they inform responsible professional practice Enhance your ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams and contribute meaningfully to studio culture Advance your technical proficiency in digital technologies, essential for your future architectural practice Apply sustainable design thinking to creatively address social, ecological, and environmental challenges. Professional body exemptions Our Master of Architecture Advanced is designed to meet the requirements of professional accreditation bodies: The Architects Registration Board's (ARB) prescription of qualifications in architecture education The Quality Assurance Agency's (QAA) subject benchmark in architecture Validation by the Royal Institute of British Architects' (RIBA) is expected from 2027, with our first graduating cohort.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must have at least a 2:1 in Architecture from an RIBA accredited Part One course, as well as a minimum of one year of work experience in architectural practice. Applicants who have completed our MA Architecture Speculative Futures (MARCP) pathway with merit or above are eligible to apply for the course and should also satisfy the one year work experience in architectural practice requirement.
