Applied Science and Biotechnology theme focuses on the exploitation of biological processes for multiple aspects of societal impact, ranging from well-being and medicine to bioremediation and environmental safety. Focus of our research Researchers use living organisms and their derivatives, machine learning, comparative genomics and transcriptomics to identify molecular mechanisms and create novel products and processes for fundamental and applied research. Research encompasses bioremediation, drug delivery, and biomanufacturing to tackle environmental issues and provide solutions to prevent and treat infection and disease.
