What will I learn?

Our MSc Midwifery short course for Registered Nurses is an intensive programme designed to develop your abilities as a professional midwife. We’ll enable you to gain the skills needed to ensure that women, birthing people and families get to enjoy a positive and healthy pregnancy and birth experience.This short course prepares registered nurses to meet the needs of maternity services and transforms graduate nurses into registered midwives with an academic masters.We take a blended learning approach. You’ll spend half your time developing your skills under expert supervision in a clinical setting. The rest of your time will be spent learning the theory in a University environment.As you progress you’ll develop an advanced understanding of the childbirth continuum – from preconception to birth.

Entry requirements

For international students

  • Applicants with 2.2 (Hons) Adult Nursing Degree
  • Nursing Midwifery Council Registered nurse with 12 months acute experience
