What will I learn?

This course will provide you with experience and confidence in the field of learning disabilities nursing – with an emphasis on leadership and shaping a culture of care. Designed in collaboration with partners in the NHS, the private and voluntary sector, as well as carers and service users, the course provides you with the skills, experience and confidence necessary for a career in Learning Disabilities Nursing. There will also be a strong emphasis on leadership and shaping a culture of care.

Our nursing (learning disabilities) degree program is developed in collaboration with Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. We focus on equipping you with adaptable skills to deliver high quality care in a range of settings. You’ll also promote the NHS values and vision, ensuring everyone has greater control of their health and wellbeing.

After graduation, you can work within nursing, making a profound impact on those with learning disabilities. Alternatively, explore roles in healthcare leadership, education, research, or even international nursing.

Entry requirements

For international students

112 UCAS tariff points, BBC at A levels with one subject preferably in a science. DMM at BTEC to include 6 units in a Science or Health Science subject. 2:2 or above in a previous degree, or a Merit in T-Level in a science or health-related subject. Access to HE Diploma from a QAA recognised Access to HE course in a health or science based subject. Applicants required to meet 112 tariff points (example of achieving this would be 24 distinctions and 15 merits and 6 passes or 21D, 18M and 6P). Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) level 7.0 or above with a minimum of 7.0 in all sections of the test. TOEFL - Reading – 24, Writing - 24, Listening – 22, Speaking – 25, Total – 95
