This interprofessional course is designed to provide a competency-based approach to the development of the critical care practitioners of the future across a range of professional backgrounds. By recognising existing knowledge, skills, and abilities whilst promoting enquiry and critical analysis of evidence, we aim to create graduates who can critically analyse data, utilise problem-solving skills in care settings, and confidently articulate opinions.The course offers the opportunity to apply theory to practice, improving the quality of the care delivered at the bedside. On completion of this programme students are expected to be able to gather relevant data from a variety of sources, critically analyse data, and draw conclusions in relation to the findings. Students can use problem solving-skills and articulate opinions in order to formulate arguments effectively, synthesising and interpreting assessment information to reach conclusions that are based on clinical judgement in collaboration with the multi-professional team. Students are also expected to be able to appraise and advance their practice through critical reflection on professional encounters.Applications are welcome from UK-registered nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dieticians, speech and language therapists and operating department practitioners that are able to meet the academic and practical requirements of the programme
