What will I learn?

This full-time PGCE will give you the knowledge, skills and understanding to teach at secondary level in a range of subjects: Art and Design Biology Chemistry Design and Technology Drama English Mathematics Media Modern Languages and Physics. This programme aims to develop all the skills, knowledge and understanding you’ll need to become a responsible and effective secondary school teacher in your chosen subject.Goldsmiths PGCE students are often offered employment in their placement schools. Our recent Ofsted inspection (2022) found that: Trainees develop the knowledge they need to succeed in their future teaching roles. They learn how to meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), and those who speak English as an additional language. Trainees become confident in managing pupils’ behaviour and develop a strong understanding of their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and inclusion.Trainees are well prepared to teach their subjects and phases.Typically, trainees feel that school mentors and partnership tutors support them well, including with their workload.
