From the history and philosophy of education to curriculum design, child psychology and global approaches to learning, you’ll build a deep understanding of what makes education meaningful.Learn how inclusion, diversity, and social justice play a vital role in today’s classrooms and communities particularly in vibrant, multicultural areas like London and Kent.Our teaching is hands-on and thought-provoking. You won’t just attend lectures you’ll take part in debates, creative projects, group discussions and real-world challenges where you’ll build critical thinking skills and learn to act with empathy.Over three years, you’ll cultivate a critical eye, an empathetic mindset, and a deep understanding of how education can transform lives. By graduation, you’ll be ready to step into your future - as a future teacher, a children’s advocate, or a changemaker in education.**What you should know about this course:**- Study at our Avery Hill campus in southeast London surrounded by beautiful parkland.- Develop skills through a range of modules, from the philosophy of education and learning beyond the traditional classroom to the impact of socio-economic and cultural influences.- Benefit from the experience of academic staff who bring their expertise in education theory, diverse learning environments and extensive networks across primary settings.- Students will complete 15 days of work experience in a main stream primary school settings.- Assessments go beyond essays - through portfolios, presentations, and projects, designed to prepare you for life after university.
