The BSc (Hons) Psychology, accredited by the BPS, covers the investigation of human behaviour from infancy to old age, examining the many factors that affect the human psyche. From our biology and physiology to sociological influences like parenting, socialisation, education, through to therapeutic approaches and techniques, such as mindfulness and counselling.The broadest Psychology degree option we offer, you’ll learn how the body and brain work together to navigate our complex internal and external environment – how, why and what happens when these systems stop working so well, are damaged, or develop in divergent ways. For example, in the case of neurodegenerative diseases, traumatic brain injuries, substance abuse, or the spectrum of neurodevelopmental disorders.Successful completion of this accredited Psychology degree confers eligibility for Graduate Membership of the BPS and the Graduate Basis for Registration, setting you on the path to becoming a Chartered Psychologist in any of the main psychological professions (clinical, educational, counselling, health, developmental, cognitive neuroscience, applied behaviour analysis).‘Placement Year’ and 'International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time.
