What will I learn?

The HNC is a Level 4 qualification consisting of 120 credits, with each unit worth 15 credits. Students study a combination of core mandatory units andoptional or specialist units, depending on the pathway offered.Core Mandatory Units (all pathways):Exploring Public ServicesMental Health and WellbeingEquality, Diversity, Inclusion and EthicsPlanning a Public Services Project (Pearson-set unit)These units provide a broad introduction to public services, focusing on professional values, wellbeing, ethical practice and project planning skills.Optional and Specialist Units: Optional units allow students to tailor their studies to specific interests such as criminology, emergency services orpolicing. Units may include topics such as criminal law, theories of crime, emergency management, community engagement, technology in public services and sustainability.
