What will I learn?

Human language technology, which is used for such programs as ChatGPT, represents the fastest growing field of language research. It's a developing interdisciplinary field that encompasses most subdisciplines of linguistics, as well as computational linguistics, natural language processing, computer science, artificial intelligence, psychology, philosophy, mathematics and statistics. For students interested in industry rather than academia, the Master of Science provides a balance of these disciplines, so you are prepared for a competitive workforce. Those interested in completing a B.S. and M.S. in five years can apply for the accelerated program. With permission of their home department, students can pursue the HLT MS degree while enrolled in another Ph.D. program.
