What will I learn?

For undergraduate curriculum in Chemical Engineering leading to the degree Bachelor of Science. Chemical engineering is a profession that provides a link between scientific knowledge and manufactured products. The chemical engineer relies on science, experience, creativity, and ingenuity to produce these materials economically. Almost everything of a material nature used by society today has at some point felt the influence of the chemical engineer. Chemical engineers create versatile intermediate and commodity chemicals, high performance fuels, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, foodstuffs, synthetic textiles, plastics, solid state electronic components, and dozens of other engineered materials. The profession of chemical engineering embraces a wide variety of activities including research, process development, product development, design, manufacturing supervision, technical sales, consulting, and teaching. Successful chemical engineers apply chemistry, mathematics, and physics to solve problems. The curriculum in chemical engineering includes intensive study in the engineering sciences such as fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and product and process design.

Entry requirements

For international students

High school GPA requirement: Equivalent to a minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. For more information on equivalency calculations. Core course requirements: Along with the GPA requirement, students must complete a minimum set of high school core courses, including four years of English (or their native language), three years of science with at least two years of laboratory science in biology, chemistry, and/or physics, three years of mathematics including algebra and geometry, and two years of social studies.
