What will I learn?

Our mission in the Microbiology Program is to instill a comprehensive understanding of microbiology and its relevance to human society and global health, and to cultivate the concepts and skills necessary to succeed in microbiology-related careers. Iowa State University's Microbiology Undergraduate Program offers: Extensive hands-on laboratory experiences that develop problem solving & technical skills used in a variety of professional careers. Application of science to issues in the modern world. Excellent preparation for human medicine and veterinary medicine. Preparation for employment in a variety of professional settings. Entry requirements

For international students

High school GPA requirement: Equivalent to a minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. For more information on equivalency calculations. Core course requirements: Along with the GPA requirement, students must complete a minimum set of high school core courses, including four years of English (or their native language), three years of science with at least two years of laboratory science in biology, chemistry, and/or physics, three years of mathematics including algebra and geometry, and two years of social studies.
