What will I learn?

Overview:If making stories come to life thrills you, then creating live and screened performances is for you. Get the broad-based skills necessary to find professional work on and off the stage. This degree will move beyond the theatre into the broader world of media and entertainment. Students in this program will hone their craft in making theatre (both scripted and devised), as well as screened and media performance. The program reflects current industry perspective in which theatre training is a basis (rather than the sum total) of training for careers in theatre, film, television, and related media.Learning Outcomes:Demonstrate an understanding the relationship of dramatic text to theatrical production, the history of theatre and theatre's role in community.Know and understand the working practices and standards in the historical, contemporary, and global theatre endeavorCommunicate artistic intent through acting, directing, design, and/or research and collaborate within a production team.Organize time, human and financial resources to facilitate the theatrical production process.

Entry requirements

For international students

Unofficial secondary/high school transcripts may be used for the initial admission evaluation. Official transcripts or official exam results are required at the time of enrollment. If a transcript is not in English, a certified English translation must accompany the transcript. Strong applicants will have a minimum recalculated grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 over the course of their last three years of academic coursework. GPA recalculation takes place during admission review. Prior to enrollment, students must obtain a high school diploma, certificate, or GED.
