What will I learn?

Students who study Social Work at Lewis University prepare to serve diverse populations and advance human rights. During the program, social work majors will learn to recognize the value of human relationships, think critically and understand research in practice. Upon graduation, they will be qualified to apply for social work licensure in the State of Illinois. Entry requirements

For international students

Students interested in declaring a Social Work major must

  1. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
  2. Have earned at least a "C" in SCWK 20000 Introduction to Social Work, SCWK 21500 Cultural Humility and Social Power, and SCWK 25000 Human Behavior in the Social Environment (HBSE)
  3. Be registered for SCWK 39000 Social Work Practice with Individuals
  4. Submit an application to the BASW Program Director, which includes an application, a personal statement, and two recommendation forms from previous course instructors
  5. Secondary School Transcripts, or National Exam results
  6. Secondary school completion certificate
  7. English Proficiency exam scores
  8. Copy of passport
