What will I learn?

The program is designed as an interdisciplinary offering at the upper division level including courses from across the four colleges (Arts & Sciences, Business, Education and Technology). The BIS with an emphasis in health care leadership and innovation is an attractive degree option for the student possessing 60 or more college/university credits, an associate degree, a passion for working within healthcare yet not desirous of completing a clinically-based program, or those already employed in healthcare and desirous of a baccalaureate degree. The program will provide students with opportunity to transform their future and the health of their communities through broad-based theoretical and practical experiences in critical thinking, creative problem solving, change management, leadership, communication, inclusivity, strategic decision-making, technologic applications, ethics, quality improvement and entrepreneurial skills. Graduates will be prepared, at entry level, to lead innovation in health and healthcare systems and coordinate and manage delivery of healthcare in a variety of settings. The course of study will provide a strong base for the student desiring to further their education at the graduate level in areas such as healthcare administration, policy or law.
