What will I learn?

The computer engineering BS – AI systems option prepares you to design computing systems that integrate both hardware and software, from the level of digital transistor devices and logic circuits to data pathways and advanced programming. With this option, you’ll build on a strong computer engineering foundation while developing specialized expertise in artificial intelligence systems. You’ll explore how AI is implemented across the hardware–software stack and gain experience in emerging fields such as generative AI, neuromorphic (brain-inspired) computing, and deep learning. This unique combination ensures you graduate with the skills to design, optimize, and advance the technologies driving AI today and into the future.

For all bachelors degree programs, a strong performance in a college preparatory program is expected. Generally, this includes:4 years of English3 years of social studies and/or history3-4 years of mathematics Specific math requirements are detailed by college below2-3 years of scienceSpecific science requirements are detailed by college belowCompletion of a High School Diploma or its equivalenceSubmit an official high school transcript. Transcripts may be sent electronically or mailed/emailed to RIT Admissions from your high school. Submit a letter of recommendation. A school counselor recommendation is preferred, teacher recommendations are welcome, and any additional recommendation letters will be considered (minimum of 1 recommendation letter required, suggested maximum of 3-5).
