What will I learn?

As a student pursuing the Bachelor of Science with a major in merchandising, you become skilled in consumer studies, textiles, fashion theory, trend analysis, brand development and promotion. This curriculum was developed in consultation with leaders of the Dallas-Fort Worth retail industry to give you the essential skills for the job market. The program is accredited by the Textile and Apparel Program Accreditation Commission (TAPAC). Transform yourself into a leader at one of the top merchandising programs in the country.Our industry partners help us prepare students for all aspects of merchandising consumer goods, including development, planning, distribution, promotion, and merchandising. With a focus on fashion-oriented products including apparel, furnishings and decor, our proximity to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex offers graduates immense internship and employment opportunities upon graduation. We teach you to critically analyze merchandising scenarios relating to the design, development, distribution, evaluation, and use of fashion-oriented products. The curriculum is developed in consultation with leaders of the Dallas-Fort Worth retail industry to meet industry needs. Students can also have the option to have a concentration in either fashion or furnishings and decor.

Entry requirements

For international students

Beginning freshman from international high school:- Graduation from a high school recognized by the home country ministry of education, Official transcripts/diplomas (in native language and English) showing all courses and marks of final three years of secondary school Students with a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.25 or higher are guaranteed admission to UNT. Students' GPAs will be standardized on a 4.0 GPA scale once transcripts are submitted. Beginning freshman from U.S. high school:- Minimum of three years and graduation from an accredited high school in the U.S., Official transcripts, showing rank in class through at least junior year, plus graduation date, U.S. graduates only. Send SAT or ACT scores
