The program objectives of the B.S. in Sport and Leisure Management SLM are a to become involved in the profession and committed to the academic service and social mission of the profession b to demonstrate an awareness of the critical role of diversity to the delivery of inclusive sport and leisure services c to demonstrate effective leadership within the sport and leisure profession and d to behave in accordance with the ethical standards of the sport and leisure profession. The diverse curriculums of Sport and Leisure Management undergraduate and Sport Commerce graduate develop students with the skills essential to enter careers in marketing management facility and event operations and other administrative positions in a constantly evolving sport and leisure marketplace. With diverse experience and expertise the sport management faculty focus on connecting academic knowledge with practical application to help students prepare for the sport and leisure industry. Students have the flexibility to take courses on campus or online while getting field experience through numerous opportunities in the Memphis area. Graduates have secured employment with teams facilities events collegiate athletic departments governing bodies corporate sport marketing departments sport marketing agencies and community recreation organizations.

Entry requirements

For international students

All students both freshmen and transfer must apply online for admission undergraduate students. Review application deadlines. Freshman admission is competitive and based upon a comprehensive review of the students academic record. The primary factors include the high school secondary grade point average and demonstrated English proficiency.Transfer admission is competitive and based upon the cumulative grade point average of all previously attended colleges universities international and domestic. Your cumulative GPA must be at least a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale for consideration. Demonstrated English proficiency is also required of all international applicants.Pay the non-refundable undergraduate application fee of USD 50.Applicants should upload a copy of their official international transcript or marks sheet high school secondary or college university to their application portal.Admission Requirements by CountryThe Office of Undergraduate Admission and Orientation will conduct an initial assessment of your international transcriptmarks sheet for admissions review. Receipt of official transcriptmarks sheet will be required prior to enrollment.After the application fee has been paid and all high school or college transcripts have been uploaded review of the undergraduate application will begin. While the review period may vary on average applicants will be notified by email of a decision within 5-7 business days.
