What will I learn?

As the world's population swells over 10 billion people, we need leaders to face the daunting challenge of how to sustainability feed the world. With exciting, hands-on courses like Hydroponic Food Production, our faculty educate you to approach key food system challenges critically and innovatively - from agriculture and production, processing, retail consumption and waste. Sustainable food businesses, nonprofits and policymakers need more thinkers, strategists, planners and activists to help lead the population in utilizing, yet preserving our precious natural resources.Demonstrate an applied understanding of how the fundamentals of plant and soil sciences and climate and socioeconomic issues intersect to contribute to sustainable food systems. Convey knowledge, issues, and advancements of sustainable food systems effectively to target audiences in oral and written forms. Solve scientific and practical challenges in sustainable food systems innovatively with in-depth knowledge, critical thinking, hypothesis testing, and result validation.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants to the University must be graduates of accredited secondary schools or have equivalent credentials. Specifically, for post-secondary, degree-seeking programs, we consider for admission students who

  • have a high school diploma;
  • have the recognized equivalent of a high school diploma; or
  • are beyond the age of compulsory secondary school attendance in Delaware.
