Certificate of Achievement in Spanish

USA

What will I learn?

The Certificate of Achievement in Spanish is designed to prepare students for varied career opportunities, become fluent in Spanish, and boost their speaking, writing and reading skills. The certificate may be completed in four semesters by taking the four-level Spanish 50-53 sequence. Similarly, the Certificate of Achievement is designed to prepare students to transfer to the California State University system because it is aligned with our Associate of Arts for Transfer Degree in Spanish and it would give students interested in Spanish who are unable to pursue the Associate Degree a certificate option. Possible career opportunities are varied and include, volunteer work or work as a tutor for students learning Spanish. Similarly, certificate earners may work with or for Spanish speaking individuals or groups within the community in educational and service related areas such as first responder emergency providers, fire, and hospital employees. In addition they may work in many service related fields and earn higher wages because they are bilingual in both oral and written skills and improve communication. 1. Be academically prepared to transfer to a Spanish program at a four-year university 2. Demonstrate the ability to understand, speak, read and write using high-intermediate levels of Spanish skills necessary for careers in Spanish and related fields.
