What will I learn?

The Construction and Robotics Eng. Technology program offers specialized instruction in modem techniques of the construction practice. The mission of the program is to produce highly competent and technically trained graduates who possess a solid understanding of the fundamental of engineering and construction/civil concepts.The Construction and Robotics Eng. Technology program equips graduates to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and related professionals in both vertical and horizontal construction. Through comprehensive exposure to construction methods, materials, surveying, estimating techniques, computer applications, contract administration, and legal frameworks, students develop the technical and managerial expertise needed for the field. Required training in technical writing and public speaking ensures graduates can communicate with clarity and authority. Students also have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge through courses in GIS, landscape, surveying, engineering, and technology offered within the program and across FAMU. All graduates are encouraged to obtain OSHA 30-Hour certification, complete a minimum of two internships, and demonstrate proficiency in computer programming and industry-standard software.The program is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) of ABET, a specialized commission responsible for accrediting associate and baccalaureate engineering technology programs worldwide. This recognition affirms that the program meets the rigorous standards of quality and relevance required in the profession.
