What will I learn?

Graduate students have the opportunity to earn the Multicultural Bilingual Certificate (MBCP) during their graduate program Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology. Students who earn this certificate will demonstrate how to appropriately assess and treat all languages in the bilingual or multilingual individual, how to train and implement the use of interpreters, and cultural awareness and sensitivity in the clinical setting. All students are welcome to participate in this program. Proficiency in a second language is not required.

Entry requirements

For international students

This certificate is only open to students enrolled in the MS, AuD, or PhD graduate training programs at the University of Arizona.The application requires (1) a brief statement of purpose, (2) an unofficial transcript, and (3) 1 letter of recommendation.The receipt of a U.S. Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited university/college or a final degree awarded from a comparable institute of higher education as evaluated under the University of Arizona Graduate College policies.A minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale (to be awarded the program certificate, students must achieve at least a 3.0 graduate GPA).
