What will I learn?

The Mild to Moderate Disabilities M.A. program is accredited by the Arizona Department of Education and is designed to prepare you to teach students with mild-to-moderate disabilities. Students who successfully complete the program and student teaching are eligible to apply for the Provisional Mild to Moderate (K-12) Special Education Teaching Certificate in the state of Arizona.Special education teachers of students with mild to moderate disabilities meet the needs of their students by engaging in a wide variety of responsibilities. As a special education teacher, you will:Provide academic instructionConduct educational assessmentsDevelop educational plansCreate behavior intervention plansConsult with general education teachersCoordinate educational meetingsManage educational recordsMeet with parents
