Master of Arts in Communication (M.A.)

USA

What will I learn?

Our Graduate Program has a distinctive focus on communication and culture. We approach communication as central to the social construction and structural production of culture. We define culture broadly as pertaining to emergent identities; discursive practices and norms; performative, artistic, and mediated expression; locations of speaking/acting/producing; organizational systems; and institutional structures.

The M.A. program?offers a general communication degree that provides foundational background in theory and research as well as depth of knowledge in the students’ areas of interest within the communication field, including critical intercultural studies, health communication, and media studies.?The program is designed to prepare individuals for a career in professional fields or to continue toward a doctorate degree. Regardless of whether you are a part-time or full-time student, we help you design a program of studies to meet your needs.
