What will I learn?

The online Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education prepares our students to provide direct and indirect services for individuals with disabilities. Our graduates become leaders by working with a variety of populations, including K-12 educators, rehabilitation for occupational development and daily independence, community-based case management, disability advocacy, school and individualized consultation services, and various other services related to individuals with disabilities and their families. Our special education degree is 100% online and prepares our students to have a sense of community awareness to enhance and better the lives of all individuals with disabilities.The Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education program prepares students who hold bachelor’s degree in areas outside of teaching for initial licensure as an intervention specialist.

Entry requirements

For international students

Before a candidate can graduate, he or she must meet the following requirements:Be registered for at least one credit in their program in the academic year, after having met minimum degree course requirements to be considered a graduate candidate throughout the academic year.Posting of satisfactory grades for the term of graduation.Satisfactory completion of all applicable college and program requirements is provided by the major advisor filling out the Checklist for Completion of College/Departmental Requirements for Graduation and sending it to the Graduate College.Complete the EdTPA assessment.
