The MPH Program is fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) and is offered in four traditionally offered specialization areas: behavioral sciences and health education, environmental and occupational health, epidemiology and biostatistics, and health policy and management.Research specializations include, but are not limited to, maternal and child health, cancer prevention, global health, health communication, environmental justice and health disparities, infectious disease and chronic disease epidemiology, data science, and disparities in the policies that impact access to health care in underserved communities. Didactic course work, independent research, and a practicum experience are required of all students.Graduates are successful in attaining employment in both the public and private sector, consulting, and matriculation in advanced degree graduate programs and other professional degrees (e.g., medicine, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine).Public Health is the science and the art of preventing disease, prolonging life, promoting physical health, and organizing community efforts for the sanitation of the environment, the control of community infections, the education of the individual in principles of personal hygiene, and the development of the social machinery which will ensure, to every individual in the community, a standard of living adequate for the maintenance of health.
