Master of Science in Education - Childhood Special Education and TESOL

USA

What will I learn?

Our program - an MS.Ed in Students with Disabilities (PreK-12) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL, PreK-12) - is a 39-credit program designed for candidates with an initial certification in education and is one of the few of its kind in New York State. This degree leads to two additional certifications - certification in Teaching Students with Disabilities (PreK-12) and Teaching English as a Second Language (PreK-12). Upon completion of the program, candidates will hold three certifications-in education, special education, and TESOL-thereby becoming highly competitive for teaching positions throughout New York State. Candidates will not only learn how to become successful in promoting the development of students with disabilities in regular and special education settings, but also master the cutting-edge practices required to teach English learners both content and language, while aligning curriculum goals to appropriate state and national standards. This unique dual master’s degree is available in a fully online (asynchronous) modality that accommodates students' schedules while optimizing motivating and creative learning outcomes.
