What will I learn?

Relevant research and theoretical foundations towards best practices guides the curriculum. Issues related to food sustainability traditional food practices food justice and complementary approaches to nutrition are examined. You will complete an applied project and internship grounded in the practical application of sustainable nutrition practices.As a generalist program environmental nutrition students have a variety of undergraduate degrees including dietetics nursing health promotion medicine education exercise science food science biology anthropology community health psychology and others.The program provides an advanced degree option for members of the workforce with food and nutrition responsibilities employed by schools industry health care government and non profit organizations.Program objectives are to 1 recognize the diverse nature of subject matter embodied in the nutrition disciplines 2 understand the research findings and theoretical constructs undergirding the nutrition disciplines 3 understand and embrace ethical standards of the respective disciplines.

Entry requirements

For international students

Baccalaureate Degree The applicant must provide an unofficial transcript showing that a U.S. bachelors degree or its equivalent was awarded by an accredited college or university or is expected to be awarded within one term. If accepted to the University of Memphis the student must provide an official transcript by the end of their first semester. In addition transcripts from any other college or university attended may be requested. Only transcripts received directly from an issuing institution are considered official. Personal copies are not acceptable as official documents. If you are a UofM undergraduate student applying to Graduate School at UofM you do not need to request that an official transcript be sent to Graduate Admissions. 2.75 4.0 cumulative GPA. Departments may set higher standards.
