The Ph.D. program in Art History and Education prepares you for careers in university, museum, community and other arts leadership positions. The interdisciplinary program features tracks in Art History and in Art and Visual Culture Education. The track in Art History produces scholars who will be uniquely competitive in university teaching and museum and art administration roles. The track in Art and Visual Culture Education (AVCE) is focused on contemporary intersections of art, visual culture and education. Graduates contribute to the research, knowledge, theory and practice of art and visual culture education in arts leadership positions in university, school, museum and community organizations.
