What will I learn?

The Physician Assistant Program is designed to prepare students from diverse backgrounds to practice medicine as part of an interprofessional health care team. The 26-month program will provide students with graduate level courses and clinical experiential training to become highly competent health care providers with an emphasis on rural primary care medicine.

Entry requirements

For international students

Program Requirements:

  • Submission of the CASPA (Centralized Application Service for Physician Assistants) application.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents of the U.S.
  • A bachelors (baccalaureate) degree is mandatory.
  • For applicants with degrees from institutions outside the U.S. or Canada, all coursework must be completed at an educational institution accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies:
    • Accrediting Commissions for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC)
    • Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
    • Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)
    • New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE)
    • Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)
    • Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)
    • WASC Senior College and University Commissions (WSCUC)
  • Applicants with degrees from outside the U.S. or Canada must complete a minimum of 60 credit hours at a U.S. or Canadian accredited institution, including all required prerequisite course work.
  • All prerequisite courses must be completed within 10 years of matriculation with a minimum grade of C or higher.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
