What will I learn?

The certificate in Piano Pedagogy requires 17 to 20 credit hours. Non-degree seeking students and students pursuing degrees in fields other than music must complete the required courses listed below. In addition, coursework (or demonstrated equivalent competency) in music theory, music history, and piano performance is required. An audition, interview, and placement exam determine whether additional coursework will be required.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students must have official high school or university transcripts and it must be mailed directly from your high school or university to MTSU. For guaranteed admission, applicants must have completed the recommended college preparatory courses and must present one of the following: GPA 3.0 OR.Minimum composite ACT score of 22 OR minimum SAT total score of 1100 (Evidence Based Reading, Writing and Math).If you do not meet either of the above requirements you will need: Minimum 2.7 GPA plus ACT score of 19 OR SAT score of 990 (Evidence-Based Reading or Writing and Math).
