Academic excellence
All offer holders coming to Heriot-Watt in September 2026 who are resident in North, central or South America as well as any European Country that is not part of the EU.
Undergraduate Academic Requirements:
For students studying a US high school curriculum:
A minimum unweighted GPA of 3.5 (B+ grade average) and strong academic performance in subject areas related to programme of study.
For students studying an IB curriculum:
A minimum of 32 points overall and strong academic performance (scores of 5 or higher) in subject areas related to programme of study.
For students studying any other curriculum:
A minimum of the equivalent scoring on your transcript of a B+ average across all subjects.
Postgraduate Academic Requirements:
A minimum unweighted GPA of 3.5 (B+ grade average) and strong academic performance in subject areas related to programme of study.
Undergraduate Scholarships – £3,000 to £5,000 tuition award per year of study for a full-time undergraduate programme at Heriot-Watt University, dependent on merit and quality of application.
Postgraduate Scholarships – £3,000 to £5,000 tuition award for a full-time postgraduate programme of study at Heriot-Watt University, dependent on merit and quality of application.
