Other eligibility requirements

The Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences is delighted to offer a number of Deans Excellence scholarships worth £10,000 to international students joining one of our Postgraduate Taught Masters programmes in September 2026.

The scholarships will be awarded on merit, rather than financial need, to candidates who demonstrate in their programme application, excellent academic performance (current and/or previously gained) and any relevant extra-curricular or professional experience.

Eligibility

The scholarship is open now for all international (non-EU) Postgraduate Taught Masters students joining eligible programmes within the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences in September 2026. Awards will be assessed on merit, rather than financial need, to candidates who demonstrate in their programme application, excellent academic performance (current and/or previously gained) and any relevant extra-curricular or professional experience.

Important things to note

  • To be considered for a scholarship an applicant must hold an offer to study a full-time attendance course in the 2026/27 academic year.
  • Students are only eligible for one scholarship per academic year from the University of Strathclyde.
  • Online, blended learning programmes, PG Diplomas, PG Certificates, PGDE and MSW Social Work programmes are not eligible for these scholarships.
  • To receive their scholarship, awardees must enrol in studies commencing in September 2026 and continue to meet all of the above eligibility criteria. Scholarships are non-transferable and will be forfeited if the recipient defers their admission to a later academic year or transfers to a different programme or Faculty after enrolment.
  • Scholarship recipients will be expected to engage with student ambassador activities.
