I've enjoyed my course and life in Reading

I have a particular Master's course that I wanted to pursue, and Reading is the only university in the UK that provides this specialised course.

I have enjoyed my study time at Reading. I belong to the Graduate Institute of International Development, Agriculture, and Economics (GIIDAE) and I like the fact that we can tailor our optional modules according to our interests, so you can mix different subjects under GIIDAE. The department also offered students to go to placement for 2 weeks at their host universities/partners in Italy, Indonesia and Thailand, with the partial costs covered. The department has a strong focus on agriculture, climate change, and rural development, so if you're interested in these courses definitely Reading is a good choice. I also like the lecturers that taught me although I wished the International Development department has more staff with varied interests.

In terms of living, Reading is convenient and residential. Access to London is only 20 mins by train with a very frequent train schedule, and Reading is well-connected to other cities in the UK like Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Bath, and more -- all with direct train lines. Rent is affordable compared to London, especially if you live out of campus. The campus is also very very green (they always won an award for Britain's top green spaces every year) so you'd enjoy taking a morning run or an afternoon stroll in the uni or in between your classes.

The university has a very large and diversity campus which makes it so special. There are activities for everyone and anything and that is what adds to the university experience. For my course it was a bit daunting to progress but there was a lot support available from staff, hopefully there will be more in person teaching to increase interaction.

As a law student

Having just completed my first year, I am genuinely satisfied with my experience so far. The student-teacher relationship is wonderful, making the learning process much easier. About campus life, the environment is serene and conducive to learning and socialising. I wish the cuisines offered in the cafes would be widened, and include a bit of the West African cuisine for those who are fans of it. I hope you have fun!

Reading university have a really beautiful campus, with interesting events, such as the food market. And in the Henley business school the courses are interesting. however to select modules for the next year I think that we are not well informed about the modules.
