Unique opportunities
I first came to the University of Wyoming in 2013 for a one-year study abroad program, as part of my undergraduate degree in Renewable Energy. I came back to pursue my MBA with an emphasis on Energy Management in 2015, for many reasons. University of Wyoming is very unique, not only is it the only university in the state, but it has a focus and an atmosphere that is unlike any other. As a UW student you are automatically well-connected as the university provides great opportunities for connecting with the corporate and private sector of any industry you are pursuing. As an MBA student I am constantly challenged, both personally and academically to do my best, and I am confident that I will land my dream job post-graduation. Laramie is a fun college town, with a bigger city feel captured in a small town body. The outdoor opportunities are endless, you can hike, ski, snowshoe, trail run and mountain climb right outside town. University of Wyoming has a lot to offer, and the student body all have something in common, which is the uniqueness of Wyoming.

My Valuable Experience As a Cowboy
First of all, If you are considering coming to University of Wyoming, you should definitely do it! UW is your ideal school because it is big enough to offer subjects and program that you want to study, and you can experience the American college life, but small enough that each student gets enough attention, and build connections. Also, UW is extremely affordable compare to other public schools, but at same time, the quality of academic and social life here is excellent. On top of that, facilities here are great. UW has computer labs everywhere on campus, and students get to use the gym and pool for free! (the gym has been renovated recently and its the best gym I have ever been to!) The library is open 24/7, cafeteria and stores are fantastic and the list goes on and on and on. The campus life is just great. The only down side is the harsh winter ( I grew up in the Southern Japan), but it can be part of a unique experience especially if you are from a warm place. Also, Laramie is a true college town and has a lot of Cowboys pride. You will see UW flags and bumper stickers everywhere in town. The people here are very laid back and friendly too! I would recommend University of Wyoming for every international student who are looking for quality academic programs and fun social college life. I promise that UW will meet your expectations and you will be able to fully experience unique American culture! Go Pokes!

The hardest you try the best outcome you get
The tile is implying pretty much what I want to say. The options that I was looking for picking a right school for me were various majors, attendance costs, the place where I would love to study for all four years. University of Wyoming is not too big nor too small. With that being said, there are quite a lot of choices in Majors. I have switched my major once and added another major. Since I knew what I wanted to be and to do, it was not difficult to declare my majors. It makes easier to decide however, do not be afraid of being an undeclared major, because you can always change and there are lots of great professors who are willing to help you out. So be active and take your gut! As of I know, tuitions and fees at UW is the cheapest in this country even for international students and out of state students. That's why we have a lot of people from CO. Sometimes, the school system is slow and responds you back a few week later and that is what makes me tired of being in West. The people here in Wyoming is lay-back and chilling out most of time. They might not seem kind to you in the way of being a friend or talking to you first. For environmental situation, personally, I love outdoor activities, so it is not a problem for me being away from a big city and a mall. But, if you are a shopper or party animal, it would not be your school. Students here enjoy hiking, camping, bon firing, skiing, snowboarding and more. There is a beautiful rock mountain called Vedauwoo and national park nearby. That is the biggest reason I chose UW. As an international student, you might find inconvenience to be out of town or even going to grocery shopping. As all the states in the US, you need a car if you want to be free to go anywhere and whenever you want. But, there is a bus system that goes to Walmart taking half an hour. What I want to say for you, you would be fine and do well as long as you have your clear goal and purpose of coming to UW! Good luck! As an international student, to be honest, there is not many scholarship opportunities other than incoming freshman scholarship.

I absolutely love studying at the University of Wyoming!
I absolutely love studying at UWYO for agriculture. The classes are excellent, the teachers take an honest interest in you as a student and there is so many internship opportunities available if you are interested over the summer. Advice I would give to prospective students if they are thinking of studying abroad is to make sure you take full advantage of the opportunities presented to you. Join the clubs on campus to make friends, join a sporting team, apply for scholarships and take on classes that you are passionate about so that you wake up every morning excited to go to class! I went to Kenya this year with UWYO to learn about international agriculture, and some of the experiences from that trip are going to last with me for a lifetime. Seriously consider UWYO if you are studying agriculture or animal science, I promise you will be glad you did.
