The University of Wyoming is located in the welcoming community of Laramie, in Wyoming. The university recently had the privilege of receiving a generous USD 1.5 million gift donated by Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica). This grant is being used to support the development of a world-class Ranch Management and Agriculture Leadership Center, located within the university’s College of Agriculture and National Resources.
This facility is dedicated to providing quality training, education and upskilling to future ranch managers, wildland recreation sector workers, and tomorrow’s leaders of the agricultural sector.
The funds provided by FCSAmerica will be matched by Wyoming’s state matching program, bringing the total gift to USD 3 million. Since the creation of the matching program by the Wyoming Legislature in 2001, the university has been fortunate enough to receive over USD 222 million in matched government support, resulting in huge benefits for students attending UW.
The university has also recently received USD 1 million from the Ellis Family Foundation which has also been state-matched to create a USD 2 million endowed scholarship fund which will provide essential support to high-achieving UW students pursuing engineering qualifications.
The V. Diane Ellis President’s Endowed Scholarship will have a fantastic impact on helping the brightest prospective students to access opportunities at the university, as well as expanding the range of opportunities available for students who wish to take on programs at the College of Engineering and Applied Science.

The University of Wyoming offers international students a number of scholarship opportunities and financial aid across both undergraduate and postgraduate study levels.
The university offers new undergraduate international students financial aid in the form of the Brown and Gold Commitment. The award is given to first-time students based on their incoming GPA score that demonstrates a good level of academic achievement. Eligible students can receive USD 7,000 per year for a GPA from 3.4 to 4.0; and USD 4,000 for a GPA between 3.0 and 3.39. Students will also need to have applied for admission by the 1st of August for the fall semester. The application must include academic transcripts, IELTS/ TOEFL or Duolingo results and a confidential financial statement. The award of the scholarship is dependent on admission to the university.
Most departments at the university have funding for Graduate Research Assistantships or Graduate Teaching Assistantship positions for international students. For more information students are encouraged to contact the departments directly.
In order to apply for a program of study at UW, applicants will need to submit a non-refundable fee of USD 40 prior to the submission of their application. This fee cannot be waived and should be made payable to the UW Admissions Office.
