Falmouth helps international students feel at home through its enriching student life.
Local towns
Penryn and Falmouth are vibrant towns with an amazing cultural and social scene. From galleries and great shopping, gourmet hotspots and beachside bistros, to cocktail bars, craft beer courtyards, music venues, cinema screenings and poetry slams- students have access to everything they could ask for.
Sport
The Penryn Campus Sports Centre offers a four-court sports hall, a 90-station gym and a large fitness studio with a variety of different classes.
Given its location, there are seemingly endless opportunities for outdoor exercise, including world-class surfing experiences, stand-up paddle boarding, sailing, rowing, team sports or simply walking and running the coast path.
Student union
One of the best ways to get involved in student life is through the student union- FXU (Falmouth and Exeter Students’ Union). It is shared with the University of Exeter, giving Falmouth students the opportunity to meet and mix with another university’s students. FXU runs over 150 clubs, societies, volunteer projects and regular events, from Quidditch and Pokémon, film and fashion, to sea swimming and song writing. It also has a team of advisers who can support students through university life, and gives students a powerful voice, on and off campus.
The International Society is also a great way to get to know other international students and if there isn’t a club or society that suits students, then they can always set one up.
