Studying at Seneca has been an incredible experience! One of the things I love most is how multicultural it is. You get to study with students from all over the world, making friends and learning about different cultures every day. It creates such a welcoming and inclusive environment, which makes settling in so much easier.
The campus itself is fantastic, with everything you need right there—cafés for a quick coffee, a gym to stay active, a clinic for health concerns, and even student residences if you need a place to stay. It’s convenient and designed to make student life as smooth as possible.
Another huge plus is the quality of the professors. They bring real industry experience and connections into the classroom, making learning practical and relevant. The college staff is also very supportive, helping students in every way possible. As a mature student balancing studies with family responsibilities, I’ve found Seneca’s flexible learning options a lifesaver. Whether it’s online, hybrid, or in-person classes, you can find a schedule that fits your need.
For international students, the level of support is truly exceptional. From the application process to study permit guidance, airport pickup on arrival, and help with course enrollment, Seneca ensures a smooth transition. There’s even assistance from immigration specialists for Post-Graduate Work Permits (PGWP) and Permanent Residency (PR) applications, which is incredibly valuable.
One of the best aspects of studying here is the industry exposure. Faculty arranges opportunities to attend events like the Insurance Broker Association of Ontario (IBAO) convention and career fairs, providing a chance to network and prepare for the job market.
Overall, my time at Seneca has been amazing. With great people, strong industry connections, and a supportive learning environment, it’s the perfect place to study and launch your career!
Even before I arrived in Canada, Seneca supported me every step of the way. They provided detailed guidelines on everything I needed to know before I traveled to Canada. They even offered airport pickup to ensure that students arrived at their new places safely.
When I started my very first semester at Seneca, I was excited about the beginning of a new journey. I won’t lie about the fact that I did feel overwhelmed as an international student in a new country, a new environment, and a new culture. I also didn’t expect how big the Newnham campus was, which added to the anxious feeling I had.
However, I felt the support Seneca gave to newcomers. All my questions were properly addressed by Seneca’s The Service Hub, which is the one-stop place for all my inquiries — from building my schedule and connecting with my student advisers to accessing the SIN Clinic and TTC photo ID.
In terms of study-work-life balance, Seneca's various course delivery methods (in-person, hybrid, flexible, and online) allowed me to manage my time and meet the demands of life.
Throughout my studies, I was able to utilize the numerous student assistance programs offered by Seneca, such as:
The Seneca Student Federation's (SSF) tax clinics, food bank, events, and student development projects
International Student Support (ISS) services, including Seneca Work and Immigration Assistance
Now that I am in my last semester, the whole experience has been a rollercoaster ride. I had my ups and downs, but I managed to make it through. Looking back on my journey, I can say that I truly lived up to what it means to be a Seneca student and to uphold Seneca's motto, "Challenge Accepted." Now, I can proudly say, "Challenge Conquered!"
To future Seneca students, here’s my question: Are you up for the challenge?
Seneca Polytechnic offers a career-focused, hands-on learning experience that prepares students for success. Its practical approach integrates labs, co-op opportunities, and real-world projects, ensuring students gain industry-relevant skills.
The faculty’s expertise and student support services make learning engaging and accessible. With academic advising, career counseling, and tutoring, Seneca ensures students receive the guidance they need to excel.
Seneca’s diverse and inclusive environment fosters a global perspective, helping students build connections and develop essential communication skills. The institution also has strong industry partnerships, offering job fairs, internships, and networking opportunities that enhance career readiness.
Additionally, Seneca Polytechnic provides state-of-the-art facilities and advanced technology, ensuring students train with modern tools relevant to their fields.
Studying at Seneca is more than just an education—it’s a transformative experience that equips students with the confidence, adaptability, and skills to thrive in the real world.
Studying at Seneca Polytechnic was a truly unique and positive experience for me. One of the things that stands out is how welcoming and supportive the environment is. I remember feeling anxious about my classes, especially since English isn't my first language, but the professors at Seneca made me feel understood from day one. They were patient, approachable, and genuinely cared about my success. They helped me feel comfortable in my learning environment, which made a huge difference in my confidence and academic growth.
Seneca’s focus on practical, hands-on learning through co-op placements and internships also gives students the opportunity to gain real-world experience while studying. This combination of academic support, real-life application, and a community that truly cares about its students has made Seneca a special place to learn and grow.
The campuses ate located in Toronto and surrounding areas, which offers the students easy access to one of the most vibrant and diverse city in the world. Seneca is easily accessible by public transit. Also, Seneca Student Federation (SSF) provides students with campus shuttle buses that are free and a quick and easy way to move between campuses.
At Seneca I made friends, I managed to balance work without affecting my classes, I had flexibility with my schedule. It was much more than just education, it was a unique experience. I can't wait to hear about your journey!
