What will I learn?

Are you involved in teaching the medical and healthcare professionals of tomorrow? Our Medical Education MMedSci enables you to gain the skills and knowledge of education to help you support your learners. Develop a solid understanding of the core principles and theories that underpin teaching and learning. You'll also explore curriculum design and develop teaching environments to enable your learners perform as best as they can be when studying with you. The course has been designed using the same principles you'll learn while studying. The PGCert stage is one of the few dual accredited courses in the UK – by Advance HE and the Academy of Medical Educators. You'll be taught by renowned clinicians and scholars, including subject specialists within medical education. You can also tailor the course to your academic interests. Optional modules cover topics such as teaching clinical reasoning, underperformance and remediation, leadership, and coaching and mentoring skills in supervision. An advanced degree at Nottingham will see you graduate with the knowledge you need to become the best educator you can be in healthcare. PGCert is available for part-time home students only. Both the PGDip and MMedSci is available for full-time and part-time home and international applicants.
