What will I learn?

This two year programme offers an opportunity for students looking to transition to a new career path in Artificial Intelligence (AI), yet coming from a background outside Computing. Whether your experience lies in Psychology, Linguistics, Science, Technology or the Arts this pathway programme is a rare opportunity to become well-versed in the advanced, challenging field of AI.

The programme aims to provide intensive and high-quality preparatory graduate and postgraduate education in Artificial Intelligence, all within just two years. The collective programme will be taught by a variety of traditional and innovative means, making use of applied topical material relevant to research and industry. This will create a supply of robustly prepared postgraduates with skills relevant to research and industrial applications of AI, in the UK and internationally. Students can exit with PGDip (21 months Full-time) and PGCert (16 months Full-time).

Entry requirements

For students from United States

For PhD study a Masters level qualification from a good university is normally be required. Applicants should also demonstrate some form of research experience. Students require IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each element or an acceptable equivalent.

For international students

Students should have a good honours degree at UK 2:2 level (minimum), with evidence of numeracy and familiarity with a programming language. Students should hold an IELTS 6.0 (with no component under 5.5), we also accept TOEFL (scores of 79 and higher). Students, who have an IELTS level of 6.5 will be required to take the 2 research preparation English courses in year 1 in order to bring their English up to the normal postgraduate level.
