As you work in a primary school and study with us, you’ll develop the practical teaching abilities and professional knowledge needed to support and engage primary-aged children across all subjects. You’ll learn how to plan and deliver effective lessons, manage a classroom with confidence, and reflect on your practice so you’re always growing as an educator. Alongside your core school-based experience, you’ll have the opportunity to complete a placement in an alternative educational setting of your choice - whether that’s a special needs school, a pupil referral unit, or even the education department of a zoo. You’ll be supported every step of the way by a professional mentor and a team of expert teacher educators, and benefit from the latest research and evidence-informed teaching strategies. Successful completion of this course will lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
