What will I learn?

The Culturally Sustaining Pedagogies Graduate Certificate is for professional educators who would like to engage in a dynamic, reflective educational space while learning about applying concepts of equity and justice to their teaching practice. You will learn about the evolution of the theory of culturally sustaining pedagogies and how it is distinct from culturally relevant pedagogies. Class include dialogue circles centered on the themes from the required text as well as issues you are having in your educational practice. There will be regular class trips to Tucson-based organizations that are using culturally sustaining pedagogies in their work.

Applicants must meet UA Graduate College certificate-level criteria:

  • Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Minimum GPA: 2.75 (4.0 scale)
