Study Abroad & Exchange programmes

Study Abroad programme

Students can choose to study at AUT for a semester or a year through its study abroad programme. This way, they earn credit towards their home degree, experience life in Auckland, and learn in a university known for its hands-on learning and strong student support.

AUT Global International exchange programme

With AUT’s international exchange programme, students can spend up to two semesters at one of their global partner universities, gaining international experience while staying on track with their AUT degree.

Research

Master’s programmes

AUT offers taught and research master’s programmes. Taught programmes are classroom-based and designed to accelerate or redirect careers. Research programmes involve advanced learning through research, building specialised knowledge and transferable skills.

Doctoral programmes

Doctoral programmes, including the Doctor of Philosophy, take a minimum of three years full-time and are research-only. Students will make a significant original contribution to their field, supported by AUT supervisors who are world-class researchers.
