In the latest Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) Student Experience Survey, KBS’ postgraduate students rated their Quality of Entire Educational Experience higher than every public university in Australia. Students also rated KBS’ teaching quality, learner engagement, skills development and peer engagement higher than every public university in Australia.

Graduate outcomes

In the 2024 QILT Student Experience Survey, KBS achieved ratings that topped the national averages.

Undergraduate

A positive overall experience and positive skill development were endorsed by over 80 per cent and nearly 84 per cent of undergraduate students respectively, compared to the national average of 76.6 per cent and 81.1 per cent. KBS’ teaching practices and support services were endorsed by close to 86 per cent and 85 per cent undergraduates respectively, as against the national average of 80.5 per cent and 71.2 per cent.

Postgraduate

Around 86 per cent of postgraduate students were positive about their overall experience and close to 90 per cent rated their skills and development positively, as compared to the national averages of 76.9 per cent and 82.6 per cent. Over 90 per cent endorsed teaching practices and nearly 87 per cent rated support and services positively, as against the national average of 82.7 per cent and 76.1 per cent respectively.

Academic Internships

Entry requirements

International students looking to gain admission to KBS must meet the entry requirements that have been set by its academic board. There are also English language requirements that must be met for admission.

Subject areas

Kaplan Business School offers courses across four study areas.  

Business

KBS’ business courses combine contemporary theory with practical, real-world learning to prepare students for careers in management, human resources, marketing, entrepreneurship, project management and many other business disciplines. Their MBA is the most popular course for international students, with eight specialisations to choose from.

Business Analytics

KBS’ postgraduate courses in business analytics will teach students how to deliver insights from complex data for strategic decision-making. Students will develop analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, alongside knowledge of modern technologies.  

Information Technology

KBS’ range of IT courses will help students position themselves as a highly impactful IT professional in any technology-driven organisation.  Their master's courses offer four specialisations to choose from, which are analytics, programming, cyber security, and mobile and web development.

Every IT student at KBS is eligible for free membership with the Australian Computer Society.

Accounting

KBS’ range of accounting courses will help students develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to make informed financial decisions and support organisational success.  All their accounting courses are accredited by CPA Australia, CA ANZ and the ACCA, and offer a direct pathway to professional certification and employment.

What’s new

KBS has launched their new Master of Business Analytics (Information Technology) course. This new degree has been developed in response to the high demand for workers with business analytics and IT postgraduate qualifications.

The Master of Business Analytics (Information Technology) is designed for those students who have a drive to excel in both business analytics and IT. The course aims to provide them with the strategic and technical skills required to thrive in a data-driven world. This program is aligned with the Master of Business Analytics (Extension) and the Master of Information Technology (Extension) to ensure that students develop a comprehensive understanding of both fields.

The Master of Business Analytics (Information Technology) is currently the only program of its kind in Australia. Students who graduate will qualify not only for industry roles in business analytics but also find ample prospects in IT-related fields such as cybersecurity and programming. The elective components in the course help students gain business acumen and essential transferable skills.
