A proud member of Polytechnics Canada, Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Sask Polytech) is a research-intensive higher education institution. It is the only polytechnic institution in the Saskatchewan province in Canada. Students at Sask Polytech are prepared to face the global workplace. They receive one-to-one attention from teachers, and become part of a vast international network.
Effective peer-to-peer learning shapes students. In addition, hands-on learning opportunities are central to every course or program students choose to study at the institute.
Students benefit from the institution’s strong partnerships all over the world. The course curricula are designed to develop research skills and exposure, keeping in mind industry needs.
The graduates of Saskatchewan have promising career prospects with 94 percent of students in employment within one year of their graduation. They are well-recognized in the industry, with 95 percent of employers willing to hire a Sask Polytech graduate again. The institution has always focused on conducting research that addresses real-world challenges. It also awards CAD 2 million annually to students.
Organized into four campuses - Moose Jaw, Regina, Prince Albert and Saskatoon - Sask Polytech is home to over 28,000 students and offers more than 80 certificate, diploma and degree programs for international students. There are ten schools at the institution, classified into two categories: Economic Sector Schools that drive businesses and industries, and Public Sector Schools that drive the economy and society.
Students can access a wide variety of amenities at Sask Polytech and can also mix with a community of like-minded people through various student clubs. Services to take care of the health and well-being of students are always available on campus. In addition, the career services team assists students in finding early employment or meeting potential employers.
Saskatchewan Polytechnic instructor Ramon Ricafort started an applied research project that aims to find the best ways to reuse plastics made from polyethylene terephthalate. The project was recognized for its pioneering nature and won a Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE) Saskatchewan Education for Sustainable Development Recognition Award. The project will continue its work and is supported, as well as funded, by the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Office of Applied Research and Innovation.
The institution has become part of the Digital Technology Supercluster to work on a project called Project Looking Glass. The project aims to support government and industry to use COVID-19 data to assess risk in public policy and practice. The primary objective is to use evidence to inform decision making for the maximum benefit of citizens and ensuring the continued protection of their health.
Students studying the Supply Chain Management postgraduate certificate course can now earn credits towards a professional accreditation with a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation. The designation has been made possible by the partnership between the institution and Supply Chain Canada.
The Business diploma in Human Resources at Saskatchewan Polytechnic is accredited as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) program. Students on the course who achieve an average of 70 percent or above are exempt from having to sit for the National Knowledge Exam.

In light of the ever-changing nature of the job market Sask Polytech liaises with industry experts and academics to develop top-quality, dynamic new programs to produce graduates of high expertise. New qualifications include:
There are ten schools across each of Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s four campuses, with international students in more than 80 different programs.
There are a range of programs which cover accountancy, administration, financial services, human resources, insurance and marketing.
Students will be able to choose from a program in an area such as bricklaying, carpentry or architectural technologies.
Students will learn how to join the high-in-demand workforce of skilled healthcare workers.
The school provides hospitality and tourism programs, covering areas including institutional cooking, and hotel and restaurant management.
The school helps students learn how to contribute to certain issues in society through programs ranging from a diploma in Early Childhood Education to a certificate Occupational Health and Safety.
Students can choose from industry-focused programs in areas such as media production and digital graphic design.
Students will be given a practical and modern educational experience. Several programs include an applied research project where theory can be applied to real-world issues.
Those who want to improve the natural or built environments can enjoy programs in areas including bioscience technology, civil engineering integrated resource management.
Small, interactive class sizes with a large faculty means that students can prepare for a successful career. They learn in simulation centres with mannequins, cameras, hospital scenarios, and assessment and control rooms.

Sask Polytech is well supported by donors and alumni, meaning that the institution offers around CAD 2 million each year in student awards and financial aid. International students have the opportunity to apply for a number of merit-based scholarships. These are primarily adjudicated on the basis of academic achievement and performance. Students are encouraged to explore the awards available and check their eligibility. There are currently no scholarships available for those applying to study at Sask Polytech for the first time. However, the achievement-based awards are offered throughout the duration of student’s study at the institution.
In order to qualify for scholarships students must be enrolled for a Sask Polytech programme and have received confirmation of their enrolment. Students are able to use marks, which can be accessed after completing one semester, achieved in a Sask Polytech program in their application.

The International Student Advisors and Student Life Co-ordinators are on hand to help students with their move to Canada and life when they get there. They make sure that international students’ views are represented across the institution, and they organize workshops and other events so students have the best possible experience at Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
Numerous language instructors run extra support sessions for international students. These cover a number of topics including how to prepare for job interviews and how to correctly reference and format academic papers.
